My Room

The best thing about being home in Whangarei is that I have my bedroom back. We live in a nice quiet cul-de-sac. My bedroom looks out onto the street.

I love Holdens and my bedroom has everything you can buy with Holdens on it. I have Holden curtains and blankets and pillows and and pictures. For my birthday last year Mum and Dad gave me a Holden rug for the floor. It is really big and took up a lot of room when we moved home from Dunedin.

Here is a picture of my bedroom. I love my big bed. Jake our cat keeps hiding underneath it.

I'm back !!!

Gee it has been a long time since I was last on the box (Mum lost the bit of paper with my password on it) But now I 'm back. Oh no, I know what you are all thinking.

Well since I was here last this is what I have been up to ...

Gone on holiday to the West Coast where we walked on a glacier and ate whitebait fritters and went to Shantytown and bought greenstone necklaces in Hokitika

Learnt how to ice skate forwards and backwards really fast and got to be a porcupine in the end of year Ice Show

Went to Christchurch for the BMX South Island titles where I came 15th and my sister came 5th and my dad came 6th and broke his collarbone and two ribs

But the main thing we have done since I was here last is that we have moved from Dunedin back home to Whangarei.

Today I feel sad

There is a girl at the holiday programme that I go to that I really really like and last night I decided I was going to ask her to go out with me.

It used all my courage to ask her out and she said yes and then I was really happy because she is nice and pretty and funny.

Then a bit later she came and told me she dumped me because she likes a 9 year old with blonde hair and green eyes better than me and she is going to go out with him instead and then I felt really sad and the kids were teasing me all day.

I cried when I was in the car on the way home but Mum said that I have plenty of time to find another girlfriend and then we went to the bakery and I had a huge donut for afternoon tea.

My first ever blog entry

Hi I'm K, but my mum and dad call me Monster. I am 8 years old and I am in Year 4 at school.

I was born in Auckland and we moved to Whangarei when I was 5. Last year when I was 7 we moved to Dunedin. It's a lot colder here than it is in Whangarei.

I like reading books, writing, playing rugby, swimming, riding my BMX bike and spending time with my family and friends. My favourite book is called Avalanche. I am just learning how to ice skate and want to learn to play ice hockey.

It's the school holidays at the moment. I normally go and spend time with my Gran and Pop on their farm with the sheep and their dog Bella. But this holidays I am staying in Dunedin with my mum and dad and my little sister.

We have had a cool holiday so far. We went swimming and to the Museum and the Art Gallery and the Library and the Early Settlers museum and ten pin bowling and went to a carnival. But I like going to school better than being on holiday. I like learning things.
